Concerns have been raised on social media that brumbies and livestock missing since the Bees Nest bushfires could be targeted in a feral animal aerial culling program in the Guy Fawkes National Park area.

But the NPWS has told the ABC this won’t be the case when the programme beings tomorrow.

“Let me be very clear, the shooting programme is not targeting horses or cattle; we are targeting pigs, goats, deer, as well as foxes and cats,” Deputy Secretary of the National Parks and Wildlife Service, Atticus Flemming said.
