Our dream is finally a reality. The official opening of the New England Brumby Sanctuary on 26th October, 2008 represented eight years of hard work and fund raising by STB Committee and supporters. With no Government funding for our so called ‘feral horses’ we rely on a caring public for ongoing support as we show great alternatives in wild horse management to those in power. People came from far and wide to join in the celebrations and the horses were much admired by all. Our Patron, Andrew Stoner, M.P. Leader, National Party NSW gave a heart warming speech and stressed the need for planned, sustainable management of wild horses. He also expressed absolute disgust regarding aerial slaughter. Remember this next time we elect a NSW Government. Our Olympic marathon athlete, Craig Burton, completed his epic journey from Sydney to Armidale riding in on STB Kelli, flanked by outriders also mounted on Heritage Brumby horses. Craig’s Charity Challenge raised much needed funds for STB. We thank him sincerely for his efforts on behalf of the horses. Do visit us, enjoy a tour of the Sanctuary and see the horses, wild ‘n free but under supervision. Horses available for Adoption or Sponsorship. The Sanctuary is situated mid way between Armidale and Guyra. For directions and details email: info@savethebrumbies.org Ph: 02 66552224
