Our Adoption Programs are Animal Welfare (RSPCA) approved.

Designed, not only to provide a safe future for horses removed from national parks in our area but to involve the horse loving public in the ongoing management of the brumby population and to assist in preserving and protecting the Australian Brumby, our Heritage Horse and giving our Brumbies the recognition they so richly deserve; a superb, tough and strong horse, bred by natural selection in the wild. Horses may be registered with the Australian Brumby Horse Register: www.abhr.com.au

Horses available for adoption are all in good condition; they have been wormed, vetted and gelded as needed; freeze branded with our registered brand, (a requirement of NPWS for future identification) and handled to basic halter and leading stage. Most people prefer to saddle train their horse themselves however we can refer you to professional trainers if needed. Horses are ready to go on with in any future discipline. We reserve the right to place horses to their best advantage. We give a fair and honest assessment as to the temperament and suitability of a chosen horse and provide a full history of the horse from the point of capture to the adoption process.

Our adoption fees range from $400 to $1000 depending on quality and type. Selected stallions and brood mares can be adopted for a nominal fee as a small family mob for the purpose of breeding. Conditions do apply to adoption of Stallions. As an animal welfare charity no horse under STB banner is ever subjected to dispersal sales or abattoirs. We care for all horses, all have the right to life.

If you are considering Adoption please email: info@savethebrumbies.org
